22/07/04

on the 19th, i received a message informing me that my father's going to die really soon, and now i have to get packed and leave ASAP. as if i wasn't under enough pressure.

the thing is, i care rocks about the dude. my mother wants me to speak to him before he goes, for "closure", but although i have much to say to him, i know it's a waste of time. nothing i can say will change anything, or make him understand the damage he's done to everyone. and even if he did understand, i'm not so sure he'd care very much.

*** 19th ***

she slept over, and we slept late. we had a big breakfast, and then an argument (which turned into a really good conversation), she disappeared, and i went to yogi's to work. in the evening we played beach volleyball, which was nice.

*** 20th ***

i got up fairly early, and went searching for cardboard boxes to pack into. only the university (the last place i looked - duh!) had any. i got suckered into making some international PR phone calls, and then got a ride home with the boxes.

it was a SERIOUSLY hot day, and i spent hours on my blades. i sweated like a muthafunsta.

i spent the afternoon and evening sorting and packing, with a break to teach english (and DAMN that sucked), and after a quick shower i went to work.

*** yesterday ***

my last night at work, and it just HAD to be a busy one. the only real bother was that i had to do stuffTM - i knew that i wouldn't get to sleep until i'd packed everything that was on my bed...

i got home around 5am, and spent an hour packing. i slept about four hours, before getting up to run around herzliyah. i paid a last visit to the volunteer center, and then had a great lunch with some friends.
i made a few calls to prospective IDC students, and began walking to my relatives to update them. halfway there, my flip-flops broke, and i had to walk home barefoot, wash my feet, and then return. at least my blades helped me make it there more-or-less on time, but WHY ME?!?!

after the visit, i faxed the army to ask for immediate leave, and then made a few more student-calls, before returning home to continue packing.

and pack i did.
