just before the calls started coming in, we had mass hysteria throughout the office - one of the guys accidentally forwarded some rather hardcore porn to everyone on the office mailing list.
this includes some of our managers overseas. some people were scrambling to help him, others to get hold of the porn before a solution could be found...
lesson: don't mess with porn on work servers.
what a horrible, horrible morning. we had two sessions joined together, which meant no breaks in between. and for the first half, we were almost constantly on the phones, trying to calm down these horrid american beasties.
i got the queen bitch, for twenty five minutes.
i don't even talk to her for that long.
the second half was quieter, but i'd already developed a headache, and i couldn't really concentrate on anything.
oh. and i spilled coke all over the desk. all over our computers. everywhere. let's just say that the others were NOT impressed - and one of those people was our manager. who was certainly angry enough at the time to put in a bad word.
i did manage to clean it up though... i hope i got all of it.
lesson: don't drink next to the computers.
i managed to get a ride home. a really trippy ride home, as i'm tired enough to be hallucinating, and the guy who gave me a lift wasn't very talkative.
the first song played in the cd-player was the spice girls...
i got home at 04.30, made a final attempt at cleaning the pot i've scarred, and now i'm typing this as i wait for the water to heat up. i need a hot shower, and some sleep.
what's totally crap is that the internet connection's down, and i can't wake up grootbek to get it back up. i feel bad about how today went.
a story about a man making his dreams come true... but with all the interesting bits left out.
