it's been soooo hard to update these logs lately - even now it's a bit of a drag, but i know i'll regret it later if i don't.
*** 9th ***
what a crazy day. the accounting exam was alright - not easy, but not too bad. i then had three hours to get ready for the algorithms exam.
yeah, right.
i don't think ANYTHING could have prepared me for that exam. it sucked PILES.
not only were all the questions rediculously difficult, but i spent over an hour on one of the questions, trying to find a pattern in a mess of numbers, only to discover (one minute before the end of the exam) that i'd been misreading the question. over, and over again.
it wasn't such a difficult question.
i'm totally bitter about it.
i went straight from the exam to da's place (stopping only for a really excellent schwarma), where we played around with Pontifex II (turns out i'm really good at building bridges), and spent a few minutes going over the slides for yesterday's exam.
*** yesterday ***
driving home from da's place was INCREDIBLE - the fog was so thick, we really couldn't see more than ten metres in front of the car. just crazy.
so pretty.
i woke up around 11am, and basically assed around until the exam. the exam was tricky as hell - all multiple choice, and none of the answers was QUITE what we'd learned in class.
cheeky - mutha - funsta.
I GOT HOLD OF SHIVA CHANDRA - MENDRUM!!! I've been looking for the damn song for three years, since some idiot stole my minidisc with pondou fever - dara lee, and it's so goddamn rare it's obscene.
i'm very excited.
i basically spent last night relaxing - i've pretty much gotten the hang of making rice, and i watched some hunter x hunter, and some arbitrary tv.
aaaaaaaand played some counterstrike.
*** today ***
today has been simply - awesome. i went to bed around 00.30, and had some really weird dreams. my alarm woke me at 06.30, just as one of those dreams was improving dramatically (it hadn't been such a pleasant one), and i have no idea how i managed to pull myself out of bed.
i got dressed, picked up my newspaper (it's so weird reading it everyday - not that much of it is interesting, but it does become a habit), and was just in time to catch the israel equivalent of a black taxi.
which got stopped for speeding.
so i switched to a bus, got there in good time, had a really good doughnut, and went to our gym.
training was great - half an hour of warmup, half an hour of flexibility, and half an hour of technique. after my student left, i spent about twenty minutes doing forms with weights strapped around my arms (inspired by hunter x hunter), which was extremely satisfying. i think i'm going to buy myself weights, and try to make a suit out of them.
after training, i headed back home, where i sat down to read the paper, and drink some hot chocolate.
our apartment WOBBLED, literally, like it happens in the movies - i've never been in an earthquake before, and this one measured 4.5 on the richter scale. and it just comes out of nowhere! not to mention the severe lack of faith i have in israeli building construction - grootbek and i ran out to the street to wait it out.
OMFG, it was really scary!
after calming down, i had a shower, and then took a bus to tel aviv, where i met up with her - we spent the early afternoon walking around, shopping and eating.
a great afternoon.
i just got back now, i'm going to have a nap, and then i'm off to watch some taekwondo videos with my instructor, and to get the videotape with my (whole) two fights.
a story about a man making his dreams come true... but with all the interesting bits left out.
