full - metal - jacket

i slept alright, pulled a fast wake-up and clean-uniform switch (it's annoying rolling up the sleeves properly, other than that it takes me about 2 minutes). i had tons of work to do this morning, and i was quite surly with private pile.

on our way to lunch, he said that one-last-annoying-thing, and i let him have it. he was shocked, and started whinging, but i carried on relentlessly. we ate "lunch" in silence; i get the feeling he got the message, even if he hasn't instantly become an ideal soldier.

the afternoon was spent jumping from place to place Sorting Things Out. and then a meeting with a girl trying to convince us to use a piece of software when we don't really have a choice in the matter, then a general meeting with my SC.

then it was pretty much time to go. because of the time change (we're currently at the same time as south africa), it's getting dark by the time we leave the base, which is super depressing.

the first bus simply didn't pitch, so i arrived at work half an hour late. half an hour later i was switching back into uniform to go check out an apartment in ramat aviv. the kid met me there - it's a more-than-decent student apartment. good area. but not tel aviv :(
it's definitely on the list, on the way back we had to wait half an hour because of a suspicious object... so i got to work with an hour of actual work to go. at least, aside from these posts, it's been productive.

odd, that.
