burned out

still tuesday:
i spent too long on that beach chair, and returned home slowly, feeling a bit tender and kinda lost (slight heat-stroke, perhaps?). i got into the shower immediately, but there was no water... and there wouldn't be any until nightfall. seeing our caretaker giving the workers hell for being unprofessional was a pleasure, if only because i'd begun to think of him as spineless and that's a good thing for which to be proved wrong :)

i began to notice a random beeping noise from somewhere near my pc - i still haven't figured out the source.

i napped for quite a while until SxS and ru55 rocked up, and we held a quick ceremony in honour of my release. i'd been planning on going rollerblading after the guys left, but instead i ended up waking up on wednesday morning from the most beautifully relaxed sleep that i can recall :)

my new piercing was beginning to worry me - i am a hypochondriac after all - and the pain and slight inflammation had me thinking it was getting infected...

i spent a short while updating my new linkedin account, then went back to chc's work for coffee, debate and to pick up something she needs help with (data recovery). when the manager called a quick staff meeting, i upped and went to coffeeholic for an absolutely fantastic chef's breakfast - i asked if he'd waited until my release to make such a brilliant omelette, and he responded in the affirmative :P

i went straight from there to interview for my old tech-support job. on the way, i walked past an old woman begging and we shared a strange moment of recognition. we wished each other well, and on my way back i made sure to pass her again with a few coins in hand :)
the interview went well - the money's not great, but we both understand each other and he's given me a few days to decide if i want in or not. i probably should, specifically because i can use the time sitting on call for all the other stuff i'll be needing to do...

i carried on past my place on the way back, and hopped off the bus outside the tattoo parlour. the girl was sitting on the bench outside, and we got caught up in an amusing conversation with a couple who'd just gotten matching missy elliott tattoos on their wrists...
anyway, it turns out that my helix is just fine and that it's going to take a lot longer than i remembered to heal.

---

i went hunting a replacement cord for the piece that she brought me back from south africa once upon a time, and my search took me into the judaica store. the woman there was fascinated by my willingness to put together a chain / necklace / whatever myself, and this took us into a conversation that got a little freaky along the way... apparently, most of my thoughts and ideas of the last year or so match up perfectly with the kabbalah, and i find the possibility that jewish mysticism had reached those same conclusions intriguing.

---

i walked home, changed for the wedding, and walked to the shuttle. we left tel aviv more or less on time, and the only thing that bothered me was that i kept clipping my piercing whenever i turned my head :/

the wedding was really nice - it was the same venue that my first TL had gotten married at - it was an evening filled with reconnections, eating, drinking, dancing, and lots and lots of talking. it was a great way to celebrate my release :)

[one girl provided me with a quandary - i had to talk it over with a couple of people over the next day before figuring out how to deal with it]

hell, i even got a couple of job offers :)

the shuttle was held up by a couple of grootbek's co-workers: completely drunk french guys. mmf knows them well, and invited them to join us at my place - i wasn't going to say no, although i'm not enthusiastic about drinkers. while they didn't do any real damage, having to clean up after one of them missed the bowl wasn't on my list of things to do when i get out :/

after a while they got bored and left, which left yogi, mmf, SxS and i to spend a very cool night talking and chilling. the night turned into day, and aside from a brief excursion to escort mmf back to his place and yogi disappearing for a while to take his little girl to school, we continued to spend it doing nothing.

well, almost nothing: the tap in my bathroom had developed a leak, and i was back and forth to the hardware store while figuring out how to fix it. we eventually managed a temporary solution - i now understand basic faucets - and later on i had the plumber come in to take a look... i'm a bit bummed out by the fact that while replacing the tap shouldn't cost too much, there are potential complications and the whole thing could take me down a grand :(

i'm glad the guys enjoyed bill hicks, and sad that SxS also eventually gave up trying to sort out the wifi in my apartment. edimax sucks.
in other news - yogi finally abrogated, and called his previous employers to ask for his job back. i'm really glad he did, because he hasn't been getting anywhere in the past half a year and it's been bothering me.

i finally took a short nap in the afternoon, and when i woke up the guys were ready to go. i called back urchin's friend and agreed to be in the short film he's cobbling together - although that conflicts with a big party coming up and i'm hoping i won't have to skip it :/

i spent the evening online, and around midnight found myself unable to keep my eyes open - i slept soundly until around 6.30am. i forced myself to stay in until about 9am, and am now about to get up from my balcony and...

i don't know :)
