falling apart

not me - i'm doing alright. my apartment, on the other hand... i just walked in to discover that the toilet's water tank won't stop draining (so now i'm manually refilling it), the shower drain's having issues again, the shower tiles need a serious clean (entirely my bad, that one), the basin's tap needs replacing, the soap holder's broken... and of course, my pc has died.

because that's the way of narrativium.

so now i'm posting from my netbook, worrying about the long list of things i need to do today and unsure of how much sleep i really need.

friday's second breakfast with karnaf - awkward. the breakfast itself was great: a great big liver salad. i can't tell if things were awkward before the philosophical argument as well or only after.

it was bad timing for frisbee, as the guys were all gaming (without me; hmmmph). instead, i hopped on my blades and launched myself south to where i'd heard i could find bead shops, but everything was closed and i returned home. i'd taken off my blades before finding a message from chc in my inbox asking me to call her, the results of which had me back on my blades and down to her side of town.

i'd offered to let her couch-surf, and not only is her lease up but she's decided to return to sa soon... i'm interested to see how we manage :)

i didn't have much time before the last bus, and i had to scramble back (good thing i'd had a double dose of caffeine) and pack (purchasing a brownie from two little girls on the side of the road, then accidentally leaving half of it behind in my haste) and catch the bus to ra'anana.

i'd had to ask the phonic thug behind me to turn it down, and she countered with an instruction to get the other one in front to as well (i hadn't even noticed him). so i did, then he did, then she did, and we were all good :)

during the walk to SxS's place i drew a fair number of smiles, which i attribute to my sunglasses :D

an excellent quote from friday night: the jews run hollywood, the arabs control the rest of the media.
it's simply frightening how skewed everything is; it's no wonder that a regular news viewer has no clue what's going on.

ru55's wife and i had a long, difficult discussion after the traditionally gigantic dinner. i began to understand the reality of what i wish to do this next year, and in addition to having to change tack when it comes to the studies (i have a much better idea on what to focus on) i also have to prepare myself for doing predominantly freelance work (which would be easier with a functioning pc, but yeah).

that's a biggie.

i haven't been keeping up with the news: watching a few seconds of video covering the oil spill made me feel ill; discovering that it's been like that for a month and a half is just beyond anything my little brain can comprehend.

---

i passed out towards the end of law abiding citizen, and was woken up at 6.30am when another guest left. two hours later i went to visit nystire and his wife for breakfast, and a couple of hours later was really tired again and so returned to SxS's to get back to sleep. i spent the rest of the day either napping, snacking or in front of the telly.

the first thing i did when we arrived at ze germans' place was to get in the pool - it was glorious. we had a long night filled with good food and great company; a wonderful, tiring end to a very quiet day.

with that, my celebratory week comes to a close. it wasn't bad at all.
