late to bed, early to rise

ha, i played final fantasy vi until around midnight. i am enjoying it.

this morning wasn't as smooth as it should have been, but it was pretty smooth nonetheless. i dropped mr smear off at school with a reminder to make an effort (how does he forget?), even though he's not getting positive feedback at all when he does cooperate...

i didn't realize it was tuesday before spontaneously asking gd if she wanted to go to ikea. i was a bit confused by the public transport options, so we opted to take a rental instead, and we enjoyed the drive and arrived just before opening time.

i'm extremely proud of us (myself, in particular :P) for getting through the ikea gauntlet in record time. we picked up five pieces of furniture, all on sale, and were out of there in less than an hour and a half. and i managed to pack it all (with a little bit of manipulation) into a kia picanto, so we saved ourselves the expense (both time and money) of a delivery.

i picked mr smear up from school, and his friend came home with us. while they played minecraft, i got to work putting two cupboards together and i'm very excited that they work perfectly, and gd and mr smear are both excited that there's a proper table for sewing machines and the keyboard, and place underneath it for storage.

and that's just the start.

getting mr smear through all his homework today was a chore, but we made it, and without too much negativity. i caught up with our kibbutz cousin before dinner, dinner was nice, and now we're putting mr smear to bed and preparing for nothing.

...

gd's been *really* struggling with her neck for a week or two, it's feeling pretty dire. we're going to try to get her some more help tomorrow.
