this morning began at 10.00 with a half-hour's walk, to the other side of town, to my cousins' for breakfast.
i then walked back in time for the plumber.
it woulda been nice if he'd shown up.
in the end, two maintenance workers were sent in his stead, and they did a quick job, and the toilet stopped it's leaky behavior, and life more or less resumed it's normal pace (after a desperately needed pit-stop).
i bladed to idc, took my financial statements, managed to delay my advance payment (they wanted $1000 by the end of this month... yeah, right), waited for half an hour to be told i couldn't meet with SSSO, said goodbye to everyone (again), and returned home.
i started the packing, for real. sammy came over to borrow my movies while i'm gone, and then went off to do his own packing (moving house, slightly more arduous than mine).
after getting quite a lot done (though not nearly enough), i took a cs break, which lasted quite a lot longer than expected.
as usual.
suppertime now, spaghetti with tuna again.
*** later ***
while eating, i watched this israeli sitcom/comedy called life's not everything, and i understood pretty much everything, and it wasn't so bad!
two very strange things.
must be all the excitement about going (coming?) down to cape town.
a story about a man making his dreams come true... but with all the interesting bits left out.
