that reminds me - my eng. lit. manager had some advice to throw me today; i think i'm going to need to pick his brain a little while he's still enthusiastic.
i sorted out my army pension stuff this morning, but not without a little tension. i hate bureaucratic bullshit, and once i'd gotten all the i's dotted and t's crossed i was relieved that i won't have to deal with them for a long while.
free ice-cream being handed out on the sidewalk? high quality? and i like their advertising? of *course* we were going to take it before lunch :)
lunch was pretty good, a bonding session with the managers over decent food while discussing my upcoming travels and the world cup. i didn't mention it in my previous post, but my mother's report on what's been going on down there just blew my mind with its positivity - it really is an incredible success!
i spent the afternoon being extremely frustrated with flex - it took me hours to realize that it wasn't that i hadn't found the right places in the code to modify: the problem was that the changes i was making weren't being reflected in the running code. i felt decidedly impotent, and switched to the other flex project until i can get help - loads more fun.
so much so that i was late getting home for the vtm game :$ (at least it only took me ten minutes). i remembered today that i'm really good with sql :P
the game was good, although by the time midnight was rolling around i wasn't focused anymore. my character had had a hard night :/
we spent another hour arguing about music, and everyone left about half an hour ago and i need to get to sleep already.
a humorous aside: french warfare. i used the norman conquest of england as an example of them not being completely useless, and that's shot down rather elegantly here.
i tried.
