lucky break-away

no shuttle this morning, so i had to bus... usually i'd complain about how much it sucked, but i used the opportunity to begin jotting down the Deep Thoughts that have had me distracted lately.

most of the workday was wasted bureaucratically, some wasted trying to convince our SC not to make an enormously unprofessional mistake, some on the thought of a ferret wearing a gimp mask and a strap-on, a tiny bit on unresponsive equipment, and little bits here and there on work.

two of us broke off early for the train - the guys who promised me i could ride with them didn't come through for me (including my TL) - and we even had a couple of minutes to chat before going our separate ways.

i continued the Big Scribble on the train, finishing just minutes before we arrived. in be'er sheva i had enough time to get to the bus. the driver agreed to let me know when we got to my destination, and i began to fade as soon as i sat down.
i was fortunate to discover that we'd passed my stop as we were pulling out, and the next one turned out to be better for me
:)

after a bit of confusion, i set out in my shiny dress uniform on a mission through a patch of desert, arriving slightly dustier about 20 minutes later, *just* in time for the beginning of the ceremony - an hour before the time on the invite: i'd forgotten i'd been told 5 and not 6... so i made it :)

the ceremony was really pretty, private and in an amazing setting. from there we all moved to the bedouin tent nearby, for an evening of serious drinking, more serious eating, good conversation (and not a little awkwardness), a little dancing (didn't dig the dj)...

i managed to find a ride to be'er sheva at the very last minute, and on our way there was informed that my street happened to be on their route home - SCORE!

i'm definitely crashing hard when i get there.
