actually, i really hate whoever came up with greeting cards. i bought three, one for each section of the family that'll be at the jewish new year's "do" tonight. not only have i nothing to write, aside from complete rubbish of course, but i really do find it awkward to hand out cards as if they're some kind of prize.
it feels stupid. and i'm sure i'm reading too much into it.
today was a bit difficult. from waking up with my face covered in blood... taking an HOUR just to shave and shower this morning... having odd jobs to do on base, when practically nobody's there... trying desperately not to laugh at the jokes about the incident...
i did sleep a bit, though. and i had a meeting with the med supplies contact, which went well.
i came home and crashed, after eating whatever i could that doesn't have colour (banana? couscous? pita?). in ten minutes her father's picking me up for the "do". i look like shit, feel like shit, and don't know what to do about the cards.
well, i'm glad my awkwardness won out, and i left the cards at home.

ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, cards are a little dorky. I do profess a certain fondness for little gift tags, since often when you give someone a present it goes in a pile and they open them all later, so it serves as a reminder. But those usually come with the present bags you can get, which handily also save you the hassle of wrapping anything =)
