*** yesterday ***
work was fine, i got a ride home, and got to sleep around 5 / 6am.
i didn't go to training, and fortunately i was in time to get a ride with our argentinian flatmate to campus (it was POURING with rain), where i gave a short speech to some potential students who are here on a two week program from south africa.
a small cheer went out when i mentioned which school i went to, and there were some other cute responses - i even got applauded when i walked off the stage! that was so weird.
and i used to be in the class of one of the teacher's leading the group... and she recognized me...
i went home, slept about half an hour, and my study partner arrived. this was about 15.00. we worked on our c homework until roughly 23.00.
and we almost finished it, too.
i'm still impressed.
i switched off my brain in front of the telly for an hour or so,
*** today ***
and then went to bed.
i woke up about 08.30, sorted out my bank account (i had to go there to sign a piece of paper, that acknowledges that the money in my bank account is mine), and then went to university, where i scanned in my diplomas and a work reference, which i later sent on to the dean of computer science, who's hopefully going to send it through to some (i assume extremely) influential friends of his in the army: i might be spending my two and a half years' service doing something useful!!
the other good news i've received today is that our class got an extension for our algorithms assignment, so all i did today was sit in class, which wasn't so bad.
instead of training tonight, which i badly wanted to do, i met up with her in tel aviv, and we went to watch maccabi tel aviv beat the pants off some foreign basketball team.
VERY satisfying.
i just got back, i'm going to have a shower, and then it's definitely bedtime for me.
what a nice day!
a story about a man making his dreams come true... but with all the interesting bits left out.
