these past two days have been overwhelming enough, thoroughly exhausting and full of context switching and stressful occurrences. but none so much as this morning's revelation that gd's original, certified documents, which have now travelled the world more times than we could really afford, arrived in south africa weeks ago but its container would take another few months to be processed.
which led us into a frantic scramble to begin reproducing the documents (a complicated and expensive procedure) and reauthenticating them (same), and planning for the possible eventuality that we'd need to move back to montreal temporarily in order to complete our aliyah process from there.
and then, a few hours later, my mother's efforts paid off and someone there miraculously managed to locate the documents in the unopened container! so we're praying that they complete the rest of their journey unharmed so that we can get on with all of this.
...
i've been sleeping a bit better lately (even if my neck's been acting up). so that's good.
the banking struggle continues, but we seem to be making progress. so that's good.
mr smear is loving his new school, and we are too. so that's good.
our cleaning lady managed to see the dentist and get a tooth extracted this morning (as opposed to her original plan of waiting a week for an appointment). so that's good.
i feel like i need/deserve a moment to myself. so i think i'm going to hit stellaris (timeboxed, though) and then *maybe* do something productive before bed.
