daysleeping

so much so that i went outside to sit in the sun this morning to warm up, passed out on the stairs and was woken up in the middle of a dream :P

i spent today transferring all of my project's TabPage functionality into a separate class. and learning about king arthur. and indigo children. or arguing anthropology with my TL and the kinder over lunch. or discussing suicide with the newly released alternative ride. or debating the pointlessness of my current situation with our unit commander.

who doesn't like tool. colour me surprised.

i hate the people in our unit - some prick returned a vacuum cleaner so overloaded with dust that when i switched it on to pick up a few crumbs, it spewed plumes of dirt at me and i had to vacate the room for a few minutes before i could breathe in there again. and some (presumably) other prick threw a cup into my trash can that still had liquid in it.

---

the quote for the day comes from an amusing chat with the kinder about covering one's ass:
"can i say `uncover my ass?`"
"you mean, like, to stick your neck out?"

the last half an hour of the day saw me eating delicious cakes and arguing with a representative of my insurance company. she was being decidedly obtuse and i couldn't get her to speak clearly :/

---

i went home with the alternative ride, nyah nyah, idiot girl and the wanker with the unfunny jokes [before you click, know that there's just a brief mention of it]. the wanker *had* to sit in the front seat, because it's not fair that i always do... ignoring age and station, i'm also the last one out, and i'm not even comfortable leaving the front seat empty when i ride a cab.

"it's okay, he doesn't mind"
"i mind"
(to the alternative ride) "you don't mind, do you?"
"i'm not getting involved. you two sort it out"

his attitude pissed me off.

---

nyah nyah and i got a bite to eat at cafesito before i showed her to her bus and headed off to mine. taking my bag was a mistake, because i didn't pull the book out before passing out, and i got a ride home later with a couple of ze german girls (i also slept on the way back).

the evening was nice, though nothing too special, and there were a few people i'm glad i caught up with. at least three people will be receiving copies of my cv shortly :)

---

i'm beginning to get used to reading interesting news from what appears to be the south african version of the onion.
