to firstfallen:

i don't think anything that's happened in the last five years has made one iota of a difference to the political situation.

even the fence did nothing more than help us protect ourselves.

the bottom line: the arabs don't like us. never have. considering their "educational" system, probably never will.
it always intrigues me that people (specifically the media) are fascinated by this area and the charades played by the arabs.
if they really had wanted to, the other arab nations could have helped the so-called "palestinians" out, instead of forcing them into becoming the most ass-backward warmongering nation on the face of the earth.

and that's all i have to say about that.

  1. firstly, don't be so polite - you're allowed to disagree with me.

my personal opinion of the rest of the muslim world's participation is that if it wasn't such a rediculously constricted culture, and these poor sods were allowed to party every once in a while (and maybe see girls), then they'd have less frustration to take out on everyone else. like french people. not that i care too much about french people. but still.

as for the media reporting style you just mentioned - nobody ever liked jews. so yeah, if 30 of us get "naturally" deselected then it's not exactly touching news.

and it's sad that the world still views them as the underdog. we may have more military might than the palestinians, but the effect that has on the palestinians is minimal compared to the amount of strain they put on the israelis.

can you imagine the americans accepting a certain number of civilian deaths a year? muslim leaders to bush: "yeah, we're going to wipe out 500 people (mainly between ages 18 and 25) this year. that alright with you?"

"500? take 450 and you have a deal. i don't want to seem like a wuss."

apparently, i'm in more danger from the indifference of my "friends" than i am from terrorist attacks.

  2. my views are very simple - i couldn't be arsed to see the film. it's one of those "whatever" things... and there's a big difference between spielberg's views and those of the rest of the jewish community. and there's a big difference between those of the jewish community in the states and those of the rest of us.

and of course, some people are just born whiners.
