bubbly

could everyone please stop "growing up"? how do people "turn off" the things that they would enjoy if only society endorsed enjoying them past a certain age? it doesn't have to be that way. if something's cool to you now, there's no reason why it should be later.

for instance: we all like bubbles. they're pretty. they're completely and utterly pointless, they disappear after a few seconds, you know you can't catch them, and chances are that whoever's blowing them keeps getting soap in his / her face. but for all that, they're no less fun.

birthday party? i'd completely forgotten that dafna and the cookies were on the cards at levontin! i didn't nap, just played some crash bandicoot then walked that-aways.

there weren't too many people and we made it on time, so we stood right next to the stage. it's the third time i've seen them perform, but the first from up close and personal. the difference is astounding! i hope it's not just because my eyes are so bad of late. dafna is totally wild on stage, and the evening was fun and exciting and the music was terrific!

i didn't manage to get the bubbles to float over the stage though, which was kinda the point of me bringing them. i improved my technique after the show, however, and i blew bubbles until we arrived at the cosa nostra, blew bubbles at random intervals for the hour+ that we were there, and continued to blow bubbles all the way home.

at the bar, i ran into a guy i used to serve with (once upon a time).
"totalwaste! you're almost thirty, what the hell are you doing here?!"
[grinning] "just because i'm approaching thirty doesn't mean i've lost my taste"

it made my night to see how many people derived pleasure either from seeing me blow bubbles, or from grabbing the bottle and blowing them themselves ^_^
